How often is one obligated to post such an image A really good question. When you are "on a roll" with a specific subject, when is enough, enough? I took (what?) about 1,500 photos of bears on Sept 20, 27 and Oct 4. I've posted a bunch on my FB page but how many is enough? (Figured that I'd posted enough here, so never posted last Monday's bears.) I'll not torture you with a zillion milkweed photos, but did take a few more today across the road. There is a large patch of milkweed near one of the ponds and, like those yesterday, the vast majority are now seedless. However, a few pods had a few seeds. So again I harvested three stalks and this one was pretty decent so I propped it on a park bench so the sun was on it but the background was in shade. There have been some levels adjustments, but nothing aggressive and the background was just willow shrubs about 30 meters away. While stepping away from the set up (minimum focal distance is 2 meters) a light breeze blew a seed parachute away and that would have made a special photo, but I missed it. Three or four times I placed a seed parachute on the set up and hoped a wind would blow it off. Nope. I was working alone and an assistant could have helped make that happen. An airborne seed would have looked cool. Oh well. Anyway, herewith Milkweed 2.0 .. and the end of this 2-part series. Click to see the larger version in imgbb .. click that one as well. It's a nice crisp image when blown up.

You have taken something that we have tromped down and run over with the mower for years, without giving it a second thought, and made it into something very interesting.
At my first opportunity, I am going to see what we have in the fencerows.
I think maybe don't quit the series completely, but drop one in every once in a while to inspire the rest of us.

Beautiful details Clive, love those golden wispy silky threads. Keep trying to catch a fly away seed parachute, that would be really special.

Oh this is beautiful Clive. Seeing the photo full size against the dark background really shows off those little threads of gold. Wonderful.

love those golden wispy silky threads. Thanks, but I might have erred a tad. The threads are "white" (maybe like snow, actually colorless) and they probably picked up color from the seed pods. I cooled the image down a bit. Not sure which is closer to reality.
