These two farm scenes are located on the East side of US Hwy 31E, between the two Northernmost Barren River Lake crossings. The first photo is a bit South of the second one. Notice the Federal brick house with a huge weatherboard annex in the first photo. Photos Taken from a Moving Vehicle. Beautiful country, Buckskin. Do you have any pictures of old neglected barns? Like, how many thousand do you want to see ? ... well, maybe I should be a bit more conservative and say how many hundred ? One thing we are blessed with are plenty of old dilapidated barns; many of them still in use. It is a product of the extreme poverty that people around here live with; wind blows loose a sheet of roofing; the twenty-year-old only newest car you own is in the shop; the refrigerator compressor locked up; the place you worked at for minimum wage for years just went out of business; a family member has died and left you with a big funeral bill; the washing machine leaked all the water onto the floor; the only tractor that will start has a flat rear tire and the rim is eaten up with rust; and, last night, another sheet of roofing blew off the barn. Before you know it, one side of the barn has weakened and collapsed; the side where all the hay was stored and the tractor was parked. Kentucky is absolutely packed with picturesque old neglected barns..... and poor people. I will see what I can dig up...it may be a day or so.

I am sorry, I didn't mean to be insensitive to the plight of the people. I didn't take it at all as insensitive; I just have a bad habit of providing too many facts and telling it like it is ---- I guess that makes me insensitive... I have lots and lots of old barn pictures and am happy to show them.
