I had originally posted these images in the Lightroom Calibration thread. After receiving some helpful advice I decided to move them here.

Buckskin, that was a good suggestion, thank you. I have added the blur method image to the original post for comparison.

This post was made by Frank, I have not tried his suggestion yet, but after I do I will add it to the original post.

So....after getting myself totally flustered, I will take a break from moving posts and come back later to try Frank's suggestion!

Helen In PSE there is an auto smart tone adjustment. It is worth a try. BTW, was this photo taken from your balcony?

I need to say that I was particularly drawn to the beautiful green grasses on the rolling hillsides on the backroads in Pa. But trying to portray them accurately has proven difficult. I agree with Buckskin that my attempt at adjusting the calibration in LR produced too much yellow and indeed the green looks washed out. That was what made me decide to move the images as I didn't want them to reflect badly on, what I think, was an excellent video. So I have followed the suggestions made by Frank and Pete and learned of two new options in PS to address the issue. Which one looks most like what I remember? I may need to come back to this and look at it anew. Finally thanks for the laugh, PeteB. I definitely needed that.

In PSE there is an auto smart tone adjustment. Thanks Pete. I've ignored this feature, but it looks good. I went back and tweaked one of my owl photos. Much improved. Thanks!

Helen, was this photo taken from your balcony? I had wondered the same thing; she does have a sniper's viewpoint from that balcony.

I am not sure from your post and from the images in your original post as to the look you are looking for. From the above quote it sounds like you would like to replicate the colours you saw when you took the photo. If yes, then maybe something like this? Obviously I wasn't there so I am guessing to a large extent regarding the colours, especially the grass you were drawn to. But if you are happy to post a link to the raw file maybe we can help more.

It's interesting - I like most of the samples here - they all have something to offer. However, I am particularly drawn to caspa's - I just like what I perceive to be the way this photo is supposed to be. (wow - that's a convoluted sentence, but I'm guessing you get my drift...)

Caspa, thanks for adding your attempt to this thread. I do like your results. Had I been looking for this kind of help initially, I certainly would have added a link to the RAW file. At this point I have moved on from editing this image. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Janice. I am satisfied with the results that I got using the method suggested by Pete....it seems to be close to how I remember it.....a rich green but not overly bright.
