Raymond Island is a small island, permanent population ~550, just off the village of Paynesville in the Gippsland Lakes, Victoria, Australia. We visited there earlier this year. Raymond Island is well know for its wildlife, especially the Koalas living wild in their natural habitat. There is a designated walking track from which you can see the koalas. Being nocturnal, they are not very active during the day and so can be hard to spot sleeping in the trees. These are a couple of koalas we came across during our walk.

Thank you jackscrap :-)
It was the first time I had seen them in the wild and yes, it was a real treat. The locals living on the island see them everyday and so are probably used to them.

Oh my. Aren't they just adorable. Thanks for letting us see, caspa. At least you wouldn't have to worry about the koalas keeping still.
