Thanks to all for your entries for this installment of IOW. Not a lot of entries, but all entries had strong points. Some excellent compositions and a wide range of subjects. Honorable mention to kathylee for her Dreamy DaysTranquil. A person enjoying a moment. I like the forty shades of green in the background that seem to have attracted the kayaker. Honorable mention to alexr for Remembrance Not a fan of symmetry, but it works in this simple photo. Some thought went into this photo to set it up. It's the kind of scene/structure that one might normally use a wide angle lens at some low angle for artistic effect. The subject is somber and the clean simple composition matches it well. The modern-day man in front of the memorial is fitting: a link to past and present and recalling "Lest we forget." Image of the Week goes to PeteB for his Jazz Night at the Lafayette. Lots to like here. A dark city street perhaps in the "quarter." There are no people on the walk in front, but the photo tells us that things happen in this bar. (Confirmed by Googling the Lafayette. ) The exposure/lighting is perfect: no hot spots and no overly dark areas. It looks like the real scene. I like.

Thanks for judging, Clive. Always interesting to see what your fine eye selects. Congratulations to Kathylee, and Alex....both images cause me to pause and reflect. Special congratulations to Pete. Rather than pausing, his image invites me to come inside and enjoy some great jazz!
