Thanks for sharing both of your images, Dan. I especially like the church from Bodie....whenever you have shared shots from there I always think it would be a fun place to visit.

Beautiful photos everyone. Votive candles shot this morning in a church in Milwaukie, Oregon. Edits in ACR. Thanks for the theme Helen!

Nice to see actual candles and not the plastic reproductions that are starting to be used at some churches. I was always touched by the thought of the candle symbolizing a continuous prayer until it was extinguished.

I have to ask, Dan. Is this an image that you manipulated to look like an old wet plate or is it actually a restoration of an old image? Either way, it is a very interesting image.

I manipulated it Helen. It's a photo I've posted before, in color, this time edited in B&W, added textures and a border in an attempt to make it look aged.

After a couple of ornate ones here's a very simple one. Taken a few years back it's the Presbyterian church in Garston, New Zealand. Tony

One more from New Zealand - the Church of the Good Shepherd on Lake Tekapo . A beautiful spot and the end of the church has a large plain window so you can sit in a pew and admire the view! Tony

That sure looks like a beautiful location....and you chose a great vantage spot to take the picture.

A grand cathedral interior shot and a simple log cabin-style church from the archives. The Cathedral of Our Lady is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Antwerp, Belgium. Today's see of the Diocese of Antwerp started in 1352 and, although the first stage of construction was ended in 1521, has never been 'completed'. In Gothic style, its architects were Jan and Pieter Appelmans Reminded of this church by Tony's church from New Zealand. Episcopal Chapel of the transfiguration The Chapel of the Transfiguration is a small log chapel in Grand Teton National Park, in the community of Moose. The chapel was sited and built to frame a view of the Cathedral Group of peaks in a large window behind the altar

Looking for an image to try the sphere challenge, I came across this old Mormon church from Ovid, Idaho.
