The subject for our next B/W Challenge is Place of Worship. I went out yesterday and took pictures of three different Christian Churches. It would be interesting to see how many different places of worship will be added to this thread. As usual, you are not required to take new photographs for this challenge. Feel free to add any image from your archives which you feel will add interest to this challenge.

This one is a bit different, being inside a place of worship. St. Patrick's Cathedral, Melbourne, Australia.

Well we are off to a great start. Thanks, Jim and Caspa.
Your interior shot is beautifully captured, Caspa. I like your first pencil sketch, Jim, and I especially like the simplicity of the last one.

The Brock Memorial Church on the banks of the Niagara River in Queenston, Ontario. An Anglican Church built in 1879. The sun was behind the church when I took the shot originally which blew out the sky - sky replacement came to the rescue followed by a B&W conversion in Silver Efex. Good topic for B&W. Tony

Great architectural details on that church, Tony. Am I seeing a hint of sepia in the toning? Whatever it is I like it.

Great architectural details on that church, Tony. Am I seeing a hint of sepia in the toning? Whatever it is I like it. I think it was what Silver Efex call platinum and I did add a hint as the black was a bit too black! The architecture is interesting as rumour has it that it was built to a design of Sir Christopher Wren who lived 200 years before the church was built but no one has been able to prove that it’s anything other than a good story! Definitely worthy of a second look, Clive. I especially like seeing the church from Chile.

St Pauls cathedral (that really was designed by Sir Christopher Wren) - this is the dome taken from ground level. Officially declared completed on Christmas day in 1711 Tony
