I do bird photography. After sorting and preliminary processing I add a Text title to each slide in a Text layer.
Normally I have many images with similar subjects taken in the same shoot. I would like to be able to copy the same title to all the selected images as a layer. I will then do a minor edit to each.
I don't seem able to do this, can you please help?

Hi popcorn , I am very much out of my comfort zone on this one. In my most favorite book on PSE (Photoshop Elements 13: The Missing Manual) there is a section on processing multiple files. I have never needed this capability so I have not read it, but can tell you that you access this functionality by clicking File | Process Multiple Files.
There are many things you can do, one of which is add a label (which Elements calls a watermark) to a group of images. It is text, and you can choose the font, color andsize, but I don't know if it is retained as a text layer or not.
Another thing that comes to mind is you could open all the images you want to modify, then drag the text layer from one to each of the others. Not batch processing but much faster than editing each image individually!

I add a Text title to each slide in a Text layer. I am going to take a stab at this, providing I understand correctly what it is you are trying to achieve. You are adding a layer of text to a PSD file and you wish to then add that same layer to countless PSD files at will, right ? I am not sure about how to do this to a whole batch; but, here is how I would do them one-by-one. You can save a text layer on top of a solid layer as a PSD file and then use that text layer over and over; keep it in a dedicated folder and you will always have it. To use it on other PSD files/layer stacks, load the desired text file in Elements, along with the files you wish to add it to. Do Window > Images > Tile This will put all the open images visible side-by-side. Click on your text image; it should become active in the layer stack. Mouse over to the text layer and "grab" it; hold and drag it on top of another image while holding the Shift key - holding the Shift key makes it land centered so you don't have to do that later. Now, you do not have to go back to your text layer --- just grab > drag > and drop the text layer from image to image until you have got them all. I hope I am making sense.

Hi popcorn, The batch-processing feature in Elements (File>Process Multiple Files) will do what you want. The text will be on its own layer if you choose PSD as the File Type. Process multiple files

Ahh, nice! That way the position, color, etc. can be modified as desired after the fact. Thanks Sepiana.

Another way if you have only a few images that will have the same text is to add text using the text tool to Image #1. At this point you can "Edit layer style" to add a shadow of stroke. Then this text layer can be dragged and dropped into the other images and moved to a different location on the photo is needed. I use this frequently. It is simple and easy for adding the same text to just a few images.

Hi popcorn, Just in case you use Elements+, please, try the following: - Open all the photos in PSE Editor - Open E+ "Scripts" dialog (fig. 1) - Choose "Misc. Utilities" category (fig. 2) - Run "Meta Stamp" script (fig. 3) - In the dialog that opens, enable "Custom Text" option and enter the desired title text (fig. 4) - Disable "file name" and other unnecessary options - Specify the title position, font color, and other settings (fig. 5) - Check "Stamp all open images" gadget (fig. 6) - Click "Run"

Hi All,
Thank you for your help. I will give them all a go! In my case the maximum number of images I need to copy to would be less than 10.
Yes Andrei, I do use Elements+ 2018. If I use this method, is it possible to edit the colour and size of the script in each individua image?

Hi popcorn, The text is added as a separate Type layer. So, yes, you can edit it as needed.

Popcorn, you have received some good suggestions. With only a few images you can also try this method. 1- Open all your images in PS Elements 2- Right Click on the text layer that is present in one image. Select "Duplicate Layer 3- Then in the next window under "Destination" use the drop down arrow to select another file as the destination. Click OK This way the text layer will be copied from one psd file to another psd file. Repeat the process for all the other files. Kind regards Chris
