Greetings from Perth Australia,
Looking forward to being part of this community.
My project now is to convert images to illustrations. I installed Elements Plus DEMO model for the Smart Object component but it is taking its time (2hrs already) to appear.
Can't use Photoshop Elements until it builds components and effects. I hope that it won't be too much longer.
Kind Regards John Brennan Perth, Australia

Hi John, I'm the author of Elements+. * The DEMO version of Elements+ doesn't include the "smart objects" feature. You need the full version for this. ** As for the cache rebuilding, 2 hours is certainly too long. Please, try the following: 1. Quit Photoshop Elements (e.g., via the Task Manager) 2. Install Elements+ once again (the installer must delete the defunct cache file) 3. Start PSE Editor 4. Wait until the cache rebuilding is complete.
If this takes more than 20 minutes, you may need to - interrupt the process again, - and delete the "MediaDatabase.db3" file manually (its location depends on your OS and PSE version.)
If this doesn't solve your problem, please, email me directly: andrei.doubrovski@gmail.com
Best regards, Andrei Doubrovski

Hi Andrei,
Thank you so much for the information. I shall do exactly as you say and NOT install the DEMO but download the full version.
Please bear with me while I do this.
Kind Regards John Brennan

Andrei,
When you say QUIT, you don't mean uninstall do you? I'm not sure exactly how to QUIT.

The Evil Wheel is still spinning and when I open the program, I cannot close it. It does not allow me to do that.

It is said that the Smart Objects feature is required to convert an Image to a Cartoon.
1. Elements+ DEMO Version does NOT have Smart Objects (According to Andrei). 2. Elements+ Full Version, I purchased today. 3. Elements+ DEMO Version, I uninstalled. 4. Elements+ Full Version, upon installation, removed existing cache components.
The loading is still in progress after 30 minutes. What can I do?

The Evil Wheel is still spinning and when I open the program, I cannot close it. It does not allow me to do that. You will have to force close the program with Task Manager like Andrei said. Right-click an empty space on your Task Bar > in the window that appears, choose Task Manager > in the Task Manager window, click on Elements (mine says "Editor_Elements 7, yours may have it worded differently) > select "End Task" Using the Task Manager, you can force close any unresponsive program. Now, save all work, normally close ALL open programs, and Restart the computer; let it get settled, wait a couple minutes, and Restart again; many times, restarting will cure a host of problems and one should always restart before installing a program and immediately after installing a program. Re-open Elements and see if it works fine WITHOUT using Elements + ; if ordinary Elements is working fine, then try Elements + again and see if things get hung up again. As per Andrei "If this takes more than 20 minutes, you may need to - interrupt the process again, - and delete the "MediaDatabase.db3" file manually (its location depends on your OS and PSE version.)" That usually fixes any problems. If not, from the problems you have described, you may need to uninstall and reinstall Elements and then install Elements + again. What model computer are you using ?
