I had to give Jesus Ramirerz video a quick try just to do a comparison, much nicer and easier than way I was doing mine.

An old friend of mine sent me some aerial images, done one with my method and the other as per Jesus Ramirerz video, with my method I was able to keep the full image but shorter drop side, the other image though I had the full image to start with I could only match top & drop side at one point and then I had to crop a lump off, also as you notice the top to the drop side mirror each other though does have deeper drop. Left image I will continue working as it's my own preferred method.

You should feel very good about coming up with your own technique to create this effect, Jim.

This is the order of my image manipulation. Choose an image, wider images are little easier for practicing. In Expert Mode, Background image, copy 3 x background Layers, name Layers (horizontal, template & top Layer, vertical) with the vertical layer, Rotate Layer Right 90*. Check the eyes to hide Background locked layer plus the Background layer. Select Move Tool & Hold shift key move the vertical layer to the right most of template layer, then use shift key and move vertical layer so both layers bottom corners meet. Now hide the template layer, with the polygonal lasso tool, draw from bottom left corner to top right and roughly draw around the outside lower corner to link the lasso, then hide vertical layer. With template layer visible and the polygonal lasso active, delete the lower right part of the template layer, then deselect lasso. Uncheck, hide vertical layer and drag below template layer, with the move tool and shift key move the vertical layer up/down to get the best match with the template layer. With the template layer lasso a line about 5mm or less above the templates diagonal cut line and then rough trace around the vertical layers bottom/right areas, then Select, Inverse and delete the vertical layer top left corner. Then apply a Layer Mask to the vertical Layer. Now hide the template layer and then uncheck, hide background layer. With Layer Mast checked, set foreground color black with soft edge brush and slightly low opacity carefully erase the diagonal edge of the vertical layer to get near perfect match between horizontal & vertical layers and we're done.
