Thank you Jim!
Perhaps I should have said more about the equipment used.

Aww so you didn't need to crop it to show us then, I was never sure about telephoto lenses, I've got the 150/600 sigma lens so I'll take a look at one for meself.

Jim, I never got an email notification that you posted again to my thread. I do not fully understand what you are saying/asking of me. You say you also own the Sigma 150-600 so you will take a look at one for yourself. What do you mean when you say you will take a look at one? What are you going to take a look at?

I assumed as you had used a Telephoto lens you didn't need to crop your image. Then I thought I'd take another look at telephoto lens for my 150/600 but when I looked in the past & read in the reviews warrant buying one, Since I posted my local camera shop have ordered me telephoto lens for me with a 7 day return warranty if I'm not happy with it.

Ok, now I better understand! I did state above AFTER I posted the actual photo that I used the 150-600 lens WITH the Sigma 2.0 tele-extender which equals 1200mm Let me now show you the difference in size of a moon photo between 600mm and 1200mm Here is the moon full size at 600mm no cropping done here. Here is the moon full size at 1200mm no cropping It is still a decent size moon at 600mm but it is larger at 1200mm Do you have a 2.0 tele-extender for your camera to get what I showed here and in my first photo above?

Very crisp and clear moon shot. I also have the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary lens. It's a great lens for the price. I have taken photos of Saturn and can see a blurry ring band around the planet.

Very nice photos :-)
I also have the 90D and a Sigma 150-600mm lens but it is the older G1. It's still a great lens at the price and I am very happy with it.
Bear in mind that at 600mm with the 90D's 1.6x crop sensor the 35mm full frame equivalent focal length is actually 960mm.

My apologies re my previous post.
Buckskin alerted me to my major senior's moment in that post.
I actually have a Tamron 150-600mm G1 lens.
My Sigma lens is the 17-70mm.
Sorry for any confusion :-(

Thank you kdcintx! Do you have either the 1.4 or 2.0 tele-extenders to increase your image size? Here are 2 of my shots of Jupiter, one as the camera captured it, the 2nd one to crop the image to see Jupiter better. You can see 2 of Jupiter's 79 moons Here is an image I took of Saturn cropped

Your image of Saturn looks identical to mine. I have a photo of Jupiter with either one moon or Pluto, not sure which one.

Your image of Saturn looks identical to mine. I have a photo of Jupiter with either one moon or Pluto, not sure which one. I have never heard it is possible to get a picture of Pluto from here on Earth. I really doubt it would be possible at all. Here are a couple more shots I have from Jupiter. Jupiter has a total of 79 moons, Saturn has 82 moons. See the difference 24 hours can make in seeing where Jupiter's moons are located! Only 5 moons are visible from Jupiter here on Earth. We can't see any of Saturn's moons. Jupiter 1A by inspeqtor, on Flickr Jupiter 08-06-2021 by inspeqtor, on Flickr
