Black-billed Magpie ( Pica hudsonia) shot through a double-pane bedroom window and in horrid flat light. Our Christmas tree in the sitting room. My wife made the lace ornaments. HA! Not by hand ... she has an embroidery sewing machine. Clive, my favorite is the second image. It fits this week’s theme to a T -- whole subject (tree) > detail (ornament). Beautiful lace ornaments!

A nice cool sunny day for a change so good for a walk round a local gardens - still looking quite green in December. A wide angle shot @ 18mm And zooming in to 135mm to see who is that lurking in the bush - it's a mermaid! A little underdressed for the weather! Tony, this takes top honors for subject originality. What a finding! Colorful and sharp images.

Peterj, very colorful and sharp images. I like how the little elf was the target of your zooming-in. He's the star of the show!

This morning, walking by the River Wandle. Matthew Matthew, this is a classic! Great example of zooming out/in. I love how your subject (the duck) is naturally framed by the tree branches.
