Many beautiful and creative images made it difficult to narrow down my selections for this week. The images I have selected this week all caused me to pause and think about what the photographer had done to create their image.
An early submission that really caught my eye was the Wild Rose by mrkrnbrd. Before I took up photography I created many a counted cross stitch so I was immediately drawn to this submission. Tried to find a tut for how it might have been created but haven’t been successful.
Portrait by Craftysnapper is a great example of this photographer’s ability to connect with his
subject and control the light, the model’s eyes immediately hold your attention.
The Guitarist by PeteB is just one example of the work done by this photographer who has mastered the sketch effect. Notice the subtleties in tone and texture.
Christell has added a number of creative images to her gallery. Intertwined is just one example. I like the way she has blended a cityscape with a portrait to produce an image that invites the viewer to pause and contemplate how this was achieved.
Alexr has added a number of images taken inside a cathedral in Barcelona. I had a hard time picking a favorite but finally decided on Barcelona Cathedral Ceiling because of how well he handled the symmetry and lighting.
Summer Dreaming by dandc was a beautiful landscape devoid of people and buildings that invokes the solitude of being at peace with Nature.
Finally, my selection for Image of the Week is.........
Cousins……Best Friends by Bayla is such an endearing image. I love the way the little girls are embracing each other as they walk along the shore. The painted effect contributes to the nostalgic feel and emotional impact of this image.
