No comment about the software as I am unfamiliar with it, but as a user of various titles in my journey to Photoshop Elements, be aware of how you save your projects. The info about this software said you could export them to a more common format and I would highly recommend doing that in addition to saving in the native software format.
When I stopped using the various software titles and moved on to PSE, there were many projects I could not open because it was in the other software's format which proved incompatible with PSE and was sometimes impossible to share with people who did not use that particular software.
I am not a Adobe purist, but I have found that Adobe's formats are the most compatible across the board - thus, I decided to stay with only Adobe products.
