Did you win all of those rug-beater trophies ?
My granny would have been a top contender; she had one of those rug-beaters.
She would have grandpa drag the rug outside and drape it over the swingset and then granny would go out there and beat it to death; man how the dust would fly.
She never wore such a short skirt though.

Good one BuckSkin I didn't make that up; granny actually did have an old tennis racket that she used to beat the dust out of the rugs. There wasn't a tennis court within a hundred miles; she got the racket at the junk store for a quarter; one thing we did have were three very good junk stores.

My gran had actual tennis rackets she would have bought for pennies at a "jumble sale." But I do not think (don't recall) she used an actual racket to beat rugs. She had a long-handled "wicker" paddle.

Yes Jacki! Was lost on me that these are probably your trophies. Nice.

That’s the beauty of this forum, how an image can conjure up long lost memories completely separate from the subject being portrayed. For the record, I would never use my trusty racquet to beat the dust out of carpets....

Black and white is not my thing, but I decided to give this river view a go.

Wow, that's a pretty impressive hardware collection, Jackie. It appears your talents extend beyond photography. I assume you have been keeping up with the AO? Goooo Barty! Which photo theme was this for by the way?

Thank you Michael, those trophies are all from another lifetime, all for doubles at local club level, and of course I’m watching the tennis, waiting for the Barty party to take off. B & W theme for the river view.
