The outside rows on steep ground are always the worst. The tall corn and the trees prevent the sun from drying the ground. Green corn-stalks underneath the tires are slicker than snot. Another victim of poverty was driving the red Chevrolet Kodiak and I was following in the white Ford. The Kodiak violently slid sideways and the Ford followed suit. Any further attempts at moving only made matters worse. The Kodiak was dangerously close to tipping over. Just through those spindly green bushes is the sheer wall of a bottomless abandoned water-filled rock quarry. When the big tractor arrived with the chain, I was volunteered to drive both trucks out; either I was considered the most expendable; or, maybe I was the only one with enough nerve to climb in and take ahold. Take notice of how much taller the corn is compared to the trucks; plenty of Ammonia-Nitrate will do that. Half Acre Road Russell Springs - Russell County - Kentucky Friday_03-September-2021

Is there any sticky situation that you can’t find a way out of! Those trucks look heavy, would have made a big splash..

I would not have had a chance to get those trucks out. The trucks would have been buried deep in the woods.

Is there any sticky situation that you can’t find a way out of! Those trucks look heavy, would have made a big splash.. Believe me, I have been in a lot worse; but, when it gets that bad, I ain't got time to be taking photos. These photos do not do justice as to just how slick and slippery the situation was; when a truck is still slowly sliding over the hill thirty minutes after you have jumped out of it, it's steep. A couple years ago, we had a similar situation. One of the guys had a brand-new huge big Massey-Ferguson tractor. He had been driving tractors of all kinds for fifty or more years. This new one had all manner of silly "safety" requirements that had to be met before various operations could be performed; every lever and pedal had to be placed and held just so before the starter would engage and likewise for other operations. The engine choked out and he was frantically trying to meet all the criteria for it to start while it and the loaded truck it was chained to were both sliding over the hill. After it finally fired up and everyone was back on solid footing, he climbed down out of there and announced "these modern safety features are gonna get a bunch of us KILLED" Needless to say, warranty or no, the next time we used that machine, all of that dangerous foolishness had been bypassed, wired around, and eliminated.
