..but I thought one of the objectives was to save space on our forum and besides I like thumbnails that open out into nice, detailed big images, that really show what people did with the original.
Hi Rita - actually thumbnails save space on each visitor's pc or whatever. Every time anyone views a web page containing images for the first time, the web browser (and it doesn't matter which one) will download the image into the browser's cache located on your pc. Then depending on your browser settings, when you visit the same web page again in the future the browser checks if the image on the web server has been updated or not. If it hasn't, then to speed up the loading of the web page into the browser, the browser will simply reload the image from its cache on your pc (very fast) rather than download the image from the web server again (much slower). If the image has been updated then the browser will download the updated image into its cache on your pc and display it in the browser as part of the web page. So minimising the image size for web display will speed up the page loading into a visitor's browser and the cached images will take up less space (MB) on the visitor's pc. So whether people like it or not, when a visitor views their image in a browser they are also most likely taking a copy of the image onto their pc.

fstop,
Some very good points, but you forgot to mention that users can limit the amount their browers cache can take up on their hard drives.
All this internet surfing we do leads to a large number of temporary internet files on your computer, a lot of which you might never need again. So, if you are running into space issues, it is a good idea to clear those files every once in a while, but be aware, that some websites might take a little longer to load initially afterwards, as you have emptied the cache and the application will have to start from scratch.
Anyways, we are veering way off topic, which is of course the challenge. If there are more concerns, questions I would suggest to start a new thread in the appropriate board.
Thank you all,

Might it have looked somewhat like this when he lived in the house? Rita, glad to see you back participating in this challenge. This is so creative and so skillfully done. I love the touch of the young boy (Buffalo Bill?)

Thank you, Sepiana. I had a lot of fun assembling the various bits and pieces and sort of cloning them all together. Thought it couldn't have looked so neat and manicured when inhabited. Rita

Thanks Sepiana for the starter image this week. Great job everyone on your entries. I finally got a chance this morning to work on it. It's raining cats & dogs outside right now. I don't remember the name of this effect, but I know we did it about a year or so ago on the old EV Be Creative.

That looks great, Bayla! Did you add the ivy with a brush? No. I found a picture of ivy on a similar housefront and blended it in! Bayla
