This Pond is a lot larger than it appears. I have worked in this area quite often my entire life and I can never remember there not being buzzards in the sky. We call them vultures here, but I think they are the same. See them on occasion around here usually circling overhead like in your photo. There is a family most years in the river valley. So ugly they are cute. A couple of us were joking recently that since we got old, it seems more vultures are circling overhead while we are walking. (Joke.)

I forgot to mention - the crop in the foreground is soybeans - which we were harvesting, hence the reason I was there when the photo was taken.
Even being there in person, it looks as if they wouldn't be worth the effort; however, that combine doesn't go very far at all before the 200-bushel hopper is ready to be emptied into the truck (or gravity-bed).
