- Layer Masks were introduced in PSE 9.
- Layer Groups were introduced in PSE 15. See . . . All About Layer Groups.
- Select Subject was introduced in PSE 2020.
- Select and Mask is not available in Elements. The alternative would be to use the new "deluxe" Refine Edge introduced in PSE 11.
- Curves
Elements has Curves; Adobe calls it -- Color Curves (Enhance > Adjust Color > Adjust Color Curves). It is a rather restricted version of Photoshop's Curves with a simplified dialog box, a few preset settings, and not as many adjustment points.
Elements+, an add-on by Andrei Doubrovski, does offer Curves as an adjustment layer.
