I decided it was time to upgrade from a late 2012 MacMini. A new one arrived today, with the M1 chip. Would be interested in swapping stories and ideas.

And up on further exploration, PSE runs on Rosetta 2, not natively. Which means performance is lacking. Which is pretty much a deal breaker. Even 2022 version does not fully support M1 system.
No further discussion needed, I guess. Thanks for the past help.
