Looking at some of those images in the link you provided I would say that some have colour overlays/effects added, some look to have added light effects and perhaps some added fog. Maybe try a soft overlay of some sort and see what you think!

Fog is hard to do anything with and is hard to edit or replicate.
Just about any image editing process aims to do it's best to remove the haze of fog.
Lowering the contrast of a foggy image might enhance the fogginess --- maybe .

Maybe try a soft overlay of some sort and see what you think! Thanks, Lillias....I did try some overlays using white, greyish, blue and even yellow.....nothings seemed to work for me. If anyone wants to give it a try feel free. I also tried BuckSkin's suggestion but I just can't get it right.

I took a quick swipe at the first one, cropping, doing a color enhancement and added some fog to reduce the right side from drawing the eye to it. Can't say it is an improvement, but I wanted to give it try.

I think it's a nice improvement, Tom! I like the added gold to the grasses and I really like what you hajve done with the white house on the far shore. It has that pop that I so admire.
I also like your crop. Thanks!

Opened your photo in ACR and adjusted a few things: slight contrast increase, reduced magentas, reduced clarity (softens the look), fiddled with lights and darks. The Fog looks a tad "pink" but the snow is corrected for white. The fog could be picking up "red" hues reflected from the landscape. (Dried grass and bare deciduous trees ... maybe.)

I cropped, and added more fog. Using ACR, I used negative Dehaze on the entire image and brushed back in Dehaze on the house and reflection.

Thank you Clive and Frank. It is helpful to see the different ways that this image could be approached. In the end I know it all depends on how I want it to look....but that is always the problem....I'm never sure. So I am most appreciative to see the different takes. To that end I have added the original dng file to the first post.

I used On1 exclusively; moving the haze adjustment to the right increases the fog effect, a reflective gradient was used to add sunshine (warmth & vibrance), cropped.

Here is my attempt. I cropped and did some selective haze removable

Thanks, Pete. Along with seeing everyone's take on the image itself, I am noticing....once again....that I need to pay better attention to where and how I crop my images.

Cropped the image, then tweaked tone sliders to expand the dynamic range, added a slight increase in vibrance for colors, and applied the Nik Color Effects Pro 4 - Graduated Fog filter adjusted to suit. i.ibb.co/rfd4tQp/DSC6160rv1.jpg

Thanks, pete61. I like your edit. Similar to Tom's I like how you emphasized the separation between the foreground and the white house in the background.
