Question:Can we save colors sampled with the Color Picker tool (formerly called the Eyedropper tool) to be used in future projects? Answer:Yes. They can be saved as swatches in the Color Swatches panel (Window > Color Swatches). 1. Make sure the Foreground color in the Tools panel is displaying the color you want to add to the Color Swatches panel. 2. Place your cursor over an empty space in the bottom row of the panel. 3. When your cursor turns into the Paint Bucket tool, click to add your color. 4. Enter a name for your color in the Color Swatch Name dialog box. 5. Save your color swatch in the window that opens up. NOTE You can also add your color to the Color Swatches panel by clicking on the button that looks like a blank sheet of paper with a corner turned up or by clicking on the four-lined square at the top right corner of the panel and selecting New Swatch from the menu. (In earlier versions of Elements, you click on the More button.)Your color swatch will be saved as an .aco file in the Presets > Color Swatches folder in Elements.
