Saw a couple of porkies while hiking today. BuckSkin asked about their quills not being visible in my earlier photos and I said they are hidden until threatened.

I saw the adult (top photo) and took a bunch of photos looking up and not paying attention to much else. Then I noticed a small porcupine (probably born last spring) just a few feet away on the ground (second photo). Its face was not visible, so I got closer. See what happened when it felt I was too close...last photo. It flared its back fur up exposing the small quills.

I was expecting more, though; as, the ones in the cartoons look like a bed of barbed nails.
	Elements 7 ~~~ 64-bit Windows 7 On a poverty-level Kentucky budget, a 24-exposure roll of film would have two Christmases and a summer vacation on it and we might have to wait another six months before being able to afford developing the film. I still have trouble remembering that it doesn't cost anything to take thousands of pictures; it just almost seems impossible to be true.
