The Wells Group Ready-mix Concrete Plant One of many. Located on the river/South side of US Hwy 52/62/68, occupying the East corner against the William H. Harsha Ohio River Bridge. This place has a barge transloading facility. The ramp and platform against the fence in the left foreground is a truck scales, long enough for a tractor-trailer; the scales are more than likely Fairbanks & Morse. The antenna on the very top is for a private channel two-way radio dispatch; I figure every vehicle and piece of equipment associated with this business has a radio, including all trucks, cars, and loaders. Some of the dump-trucks I have driven are equipped with such a system; I could be five counties away and communicate with the dispatcher as good as if I were next door.
