HMAS Castlemaine was built at Williamstown Vic., 1941-42 and served with distinction during WWII in the coastal and northern waters of Australia, Pacific, Indian Ocean and China Sea. She was paid off in 1945 and later used for training purposes at HMAS Cerberus, Westernport Vic., until the early 1970's. The Maritime Trust has now restored the vessel as a floating museum and naval memorial for the benefit of all Australians.

I'm gonna have to study up on this docking board business; I had never saw one before. It has a space labeled "Flood Dock"; so, I am assuming it is referring to a dry dock.
Thanks for posting these; although I live high and dry and two days away from the ocean, I do enjoy anything about ships, wood or steel. Most sailors couldn't swim a lick; I would have made a good sailor and a better Captain, as I would have wanted to walk the quarter-deck.

Love the knots....especially the middle board. They look like something my granddaughter would enjoy learning how to do. May have to investigate them.

A fascinating piece of WWII history. Kudos to the Maritime Trust for setting it up and kudos to you for photo/documenting it so well.
