We are in Maysville, on the approach to the Simon Kenton Memorial Bridge.
We will cross over 2nd Street, CSX RxR Cincinnati Subdivision, and Landing Access Road before getting on the bridge proper.
On the Ohio side, we will cross over Water Street and High Street before exiting the bridge at U.S. Route 52.
The impressive brick on the right(1st Photo) currently serves as the Buffalo Trace District Health Department.
We are looking East/upstream.
This plate is where a suspension cable is attached to the bridge.
The smoke stacks are J.M. Stuart Generating Station on the Ohio side of the river.
Note how and where the suspension cables are attached to the bridge.
The center of the bridge is ahead of us at the lowest point of the main cables.
It is reassuring to know that the cables are only 91-years-old.
I searched to no avail to find how much higher the center of the bridge is than the ends.
We are at the Northern end of the Simon Kenton Memorial Bridge in Aberdeen, Huntington Township, Brown County, Ohio.
We will turn left/West to continue our Eastbound journey.
I hope you find this interesting.
