Hinton Mills - Mays Lick is on the South side of US Hwy 68, on the Northern outskirts of Mays Lick.
Established in 1918, Hinton Mills has five locations; including Plummers Landing, Flemingsburg, Ewing, Cynthiana, and here in Mays Lick; their history is worth reading.
I found it interesting, but not surprising, that, in 1982, 75% of the cattle feed they made/sold was for dairy cattle; now, in 2022, less than 1% is for dairy cattle.
There is a very interesting video featuring Hinton Mills, dated 1982, that aired on TV; you can view it HERE on FaceBook, plus read an interesting article dated 2022; or, you can watch the video HERE on YouTube.

In this first photo, we are following Ozark Motor Lines Trailer #10762
The row of implements this side of the buildings are fertilize spreader buggies; when a customer buys fertilize, he can pay a fee to have the fertilize loaded in one of these buggies; he can then pull the buggy to the field behind his truck, unhook from the truck and connect it to his tractor; spread the fertilize; disconnect from the tractor; hook it back to the truck; and, return the empty buggy for someone else to use.
Notice the Christmas Star on the tallest of the grain elevators.
The 379 Peterbilt Bulk Feed Delivery Truck is serving Sunday duty as a gate across one of the driveways; similar trucks are blocking each of the other two entrances.
Notice the long tube along the top of the truck bed; that is a grain auger.
The driver can work a lever that will swing the auger over the opening in a grain bin and auger the load of feed into the bin.
In the first two photos, we were traveling East and looking at the South side; in this photo, we are traveling West and get to see the North side.
