Hi All.
I have recently taken up Macro photography, mainly insects. I have used my Tamron 90mm f=2,8 on my Nikon D500 with a ring light. For sometime I have been disappointed with the results because of the very narrow depth of field.
I have now purchased a simple Macro rail and have just taken my first Focus stacking series of a tiny bug, about 2mm long. Having read about focus stacking I have taken 10 images focused about 0.25mm apart to include the feelers. I now want to process them using photo stacking.
I am using elements 2018 and I also have the Elements + version. The process available on Elements is very rudimentary and seems to be limited to three images and then it seems to need a subject like stacked boxes or 3 pencils. The process using Elements + is much more user friendly but once again seems limited to 3 images in the stack. I have searched on the web but found little of much help.
Is there a method, using these programs, that will enable me to focus stack my 10 images? I would also like to use it for flowers.

Elements+ contains a script that will work.

Hi popcorn, The creator of Elements+ is a member here -- Andrei Doubrovski. I sent him a PM bringing your inquiry to his attention. He is best qualified to elaborate on this issue. Hang in there!

Hi Andre, you are always there for me!!! Thank you.
I had watched the video that you suggested before I posted thread, but in the video you say " take three images", I assumed it was limited to 3 images. I presume to do the 10 images I open them all in Elements and then use Elements+ to process the focus stack on all 10 images at once? I am about to try. Should I process all the images in ACR before I stack them, or should I stack them first and the process the result in ACR?

Popcorn, The method I use is open my raw files in PSE (ACR), process all the files with the same settings, then open all the file in PSE, select all images in photobin, apply the Elements+ focus stacking script, then save the resulting stack. Andrei might have a different method to suggest.

Hi All, It worked!!! I am so chuffed. Peter, I did exactly as you described above. It took me less than 5 minutes, but the computer processing must have taken 10 minutes because I did not reduce the file sizes. Now I have my first focus stacked bug. Andrei thank you.

Peterj, I use basically the same method: I process all the files in ACR, open them in PSE, and then run the Focus Stacking script. (Selecting images in Photo Bin isn't necessary, though)
