I have been having the devil's own time in troubleshooting my recently acquired Redfield Sharplet plugin.
I have reinstalled it numerous times.
I downloaded the recommended fix and installed it.
I have replaced the 8BF file.
Here is what I am up against:
I can do File > New > Blank File and it creates a blank white file that is 1296 x 864 pixels; that measurement is nothing specific; it is just whatever the measurements were set to create.
I can draw lines, paint spots, and make a multi-layered stack and then activate Sharplet; the program will open and I can sharpen to a fare-the-well.
I can create these new blank files all day long and Sharplet never fails to perform --- until, I try it on a real 5472 x 3648 image file --- no matter whether a single layer or several --- and, as soon as I select Sharplet, I get a pop-up error saying the operation cannot be performed due to a program error.
Once this error appears, Sharplet will not respond on any file, no matter the size or origin --- until, I close Elements and start over.
Once I close and start over, I can create files and Sharplet will sharpen them, over and over again, file after file --- until, I try to do another normal image file; at which point, I get the error and Sharplet will no longer respond until I close and restart.
Water Ripples performs flawlessly on the full size files, as does Craquelure, even on top of each other.
Any ideas ?
Is Sharplet limited as to file size ?
I am going to try it on some downsized files and see how that works.
