When I installed PE2022 an app magically appeared on my Desktop 'Adobe Creative Cloud'. It appears to have no relevance to me yet I cannot uninstall it as it says there are Cloud related apps on my PC. I am flummoxed. Anyone know anything about it?

Hi HappyScott, Back in PSE 2021, Adobe introduced a new feature -- Save to Cloud –- which requires this CC app. It enables Elements users to save files to the Cloud, a storage space on the Adobe site. You need this app to take advantage of this new feature. However, you don't have to save your files to the Cloud; you can just save them on your computer. Benefits of a free Creative Cloud membershipAnother feature Adobe introduced in PSE 2021 was Automatic Backup of the Organizer (catalog organization structure). This feature also uses this CC app. However, if you don’t want to use Automatic Backup, you can still do the backup manually. Personally, I advise and encourage Elements users to take advantage of this Cloud feature. IMHO, it takes Elements to another level in terms of performance and functionality. We have a thread discussing this CC app and the possibility of uninstalling it. Two of our members, feysl and Peterj, reported having done it without causing any "harm” to Elements. They followed these Adobe instructions: Uninstall the Creative Cloud desktop appYou may want to check this thread. michelb provides excellent insight into this CC app and its role in Elements. What's new with the Creative Cloud desktop app in PSE2022? - No official (or even NDA) technical explanations, so what do we see now, especially in the Adobe PSE user to user forum? - Saving to the Cloud in PSE2021 was an 'experimental' feature for some users only. It still works but has not been offered again with PSE2022. - The CC desktop app is always installed now except for Mac or Win store versions. - The general consensus is that the app does not cause noticeable slowing down, on the contrary, it seems to be the main solution to many installation and updating issues. - I suspect that the CC desktop app is necessary to replace old and obsolete application managers. The 'Save to the Cloud' was probably a marketing attempt to make that background task look as a new feature. Not very convincing if you don't have other subscription apps.
I also have a free LR and PS subscription from Adobe as an advantage for helping in the user to user forums. I am still partial to using PSE with its trio of apps: editor, organizer and PSE ACR. So, I appreciate being able to use Bridge and the full ACR version. I have not even installed PS and LR. For me, Save to the Cloud is a good reason to keep PSE2021 together with PSE2022.
