Downy Woodpecker_Male Due to the few black spots and bars on his white outer tail-feathers, I am going to brand this as a Downy Woodpecker. This is a male as females do not have the red patch on the back of their heads Downy Woodpeckers are very similar to Hairy Woodpeckers and it is hard to Tell the Difference. Here is what All About Birds, Audubon, ebird, Bird Advisors, and Wikipedia have to say about them. Wednesday_26-January-2022

Great shots! "Downy", "Hairy" - it's a bird to me! Thanks for the compliment; you have made my day.
That little dude was hammering away on that little branch and I cannot for the life of me see what he could have been after.
He is on the outboard side of his work; if he hammers enough, he could "saw the limb out from under him" so to speak.
