II am wondering if it's possible to unsubscribe to e mail alerts for a specific thread. I don't wish to disable all e mail alerts from threads I have participated in. I just want to disable the many notifications from a specific thread; I would prefer to visit the website directly for that thread. Your advice would be appreciated.
Kind regards Chris

Thanks for asking as I was not aware we could even get e-mail alerts; I have never noticed any option box or anything when making a post.

Buckskin, if you wish to receive notifications follow this procedure. 1- Log in 2- Click on Profile 3-Click on Edit profile 4- Click on Notifications. You will see many options there. Kind regards Chris

Thanks for that. From what I am seeing, alert requests for individual threads are not possible; it looks like an all or none option. The sites I am familiar with that have selective alert notification have the ability at the posting of each individual thread and also somewhere in the "tools" for any particular thread, giving the option to either subscribe or not. I am not seeing that ability here.

Chris and BuckSkin , unfortunately our forum does not allow selective alert notification. We have encountered this issue before. Tpgettys has shared the notification system explanation from ProBoards. If you choose "Smart" you will only receive one email notification until you visit that thread again. This is not perfect but something you may want to consider.

Thank you Helen. The "Smart" option may be the best compromise. I will "Bookmark" that thread and then choose "No Notifications" or "Smart" and will see what happens. It should work.
Kind regards Chris

Thank you Helen, I have found a way to stop the alerts by following your suggestion. First, I "Bookmarked" that thread and then choose "Smart" notifications. That didn't work, probably because I also participated in that thread. Then I selected "smart" notifications for "threads I have participated in" and that stopped them. So it seems that the different options work independently from one another. What would we do without technology!
Kind regards Chris
