I enjoy using vintage lenses on my Sony A7ii camera. Unfortunately, without an electronic connection I'm unable to see what lens was used for an image and over time I forget. Being a looong time user of PSE 9 ( hey, it still works for me ), I was wondering if there is a plug-in for PSE 9 that will allow me to just add simple lens info, i.e. "Helios 58mm". As always, "Thank you" for your time and help.

For your purposes, I highly recommend ExifToolGUI; it's FREE and it's wonderful ! With ExifToolGUI, you can create and save "WorkSpace" templates loaded with the EXIF information you desire and apply them to a single image or a whole batch. I have found that I can create and edit my workspace templates in NotePad as a simple text document and then Save As a .ini file and it is much quicker/easier than doing it within ExifToolGUI. There is basically no limit to the EXIF data fields that you can edit, alter, add, or remove by using ExifToolGUI; EXIF, XMP, IPTC, MakerNotes, User Comments, etc. I have found it to be the best tool for editing/altering time stamps and adding or editing GPS coordinates. It will write any data into the RAW or original file; thus, the data will then carry over to any subsequent creations from that file --- PROVIDING whatever program you are using does not strip or corrupt that data; when that happens, you can use ExifToolGUI to repair the damage. Like FastStone, I cannot say enough good about ExifToolGUI. |
