Here is my analysis: I like it! Pleasant low angle and the texture treatment makes me think this is an old piano played for decades .. very Casablanca-esque. Perfect DOF. Rick: You know what I want to hear.
Sam: No, I don’t.

This photo must be clicked to see the large version. Mystical. I don't watch movies (despite my Casablanca reference above  ) yet know enough that this might be part of LOTRs or a Harry Potter movie. Or possibly "The Scream" painting by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch in 1893. I like the sun rays from the upper left. (Real or PSE Frank?) I like the colors and contrast between the tree and the darker background. When this photo is enlarged it is sharp and has no end of imagery in it just like a summer cloud. I see ghoulish faces and animals. Eerie in a pleasing way. IOW

Here is my analysis: I like it! I like the textured treatment and faded, pastel-like colors. Sometime in my past I have been to this place...or somewhere similar. The gas station sort of reminds me of Winslow, AZ. The hills in the background could be in our Red Deer River valley (and I could show you a similar place in that valley). Anyway, I like this image and it pleases me to look at it. IOW goes to dandc

Well done, Judy and Frank. Your gas station is one of those photographic treasures that can make a photographer's day, Dan. You are good at finding some very unique locations.

Thank you for judging Clive and providing insightful commentary on your picks. Thanks also for the IOW nod. This Service Station is at the end of a historic street in Niles California . . . which was once the early Hollywood of the silent film era. On my way into town I couldn't believe how great the station looked as it almost seemed like a movie set itself. On the way out of town I knew I had to stop to take this shot. As it turns out the place is now used as a social club for auto enthusiasts which I thought was a novel idea and a great use for this historic place. Congratulations to Judy and Frank for the awesome images being picked this week as well!
