Scolopendromorph Centipede - Hemiscolopendra marginata
This is the aggressive, venomous, ready to fight version of Centipede. This one quickly rolled onto it's back so that it could curl up and lay it's stingers into me.
There is another commonly seen version that is more apt to quickly flee than fight, called the House Centipede; it has many many long hair-like legs.
Here is what Critter Files, Britannica, and Wikipedia have to say about them.

Pretty color.....reading one of your links : "Centipedes also make interesting photography subjects, but they are so fast-moving that it can be hard to get a picture. Make sure to use a fast film speed in bright light. Another trick: before a photo session, cool down a centipede in a refrigerator for about 15 minutes. The centipede will recover fully in a minute or so after it is removed from the cold, but it will move slowly in the meantime - just enough time for a few good pictures." Curious....did you cool him down...as you sure got some nice pictures.

Thanks for the compliment ! No, I was just quick about my business. I was using a Canon T3/1100D with 18-55mm "Kit lens" at 55mm, with a +4 diopter/close-up filter. I think the trick to getting the best one can in such a situation is the Neewer TTL Ring Flash, as it sort of freezes the moment.
I may try the refrigerator/freezer trick on some insects in the future; but, if the wife had any idea I put that thing in the refrigerator, I would never hear the end of it; and, if my little buddy knew about it, we would just have to get a new refrigerator --- unless it was her idea, then she would be all for it.
As I didn't want him having any encounters with the wife or my little buddy, the second the photo session was over, he met with a swift and sudden demise under the heel of my boot; like snakes, they are an endangered species around here.

"It can reach 3". Nope. Nope. One of those in your pants would be as bad a ferret. Pretty colors though. Putting bugs in a fridge or freezer definitely works and gives you a few minutes to photograph.

Amazing color. Never seen or heard of such a centipede. The very sight of such a centipede says Don't Touch.

Never seen or heard of such a centipede.
They are quite common in my area and always have been.
We also have the Hairy Centipede; from what I gather, it is almost as venomous as the one pictured, but is more apt to quickly leave the scene. I just saw one of those yesterday; they get gone so quick that it would be hard to capture one to give him the refrigerator treatment.
We also have a version of the Millipede; they look like a nasty earthworm with a million legs.
Needless to say, they are all vile-looking creatures; something to drop down your shirt-collar when going through the cellar door.
