I wanted to hide a piece of guardrail in a picture by just cloning some of the surrounding brush over it. simple, do it all the time.
but now what ever I put in is very dark, almost black, and if I go over the same place twice it is black. like the burn tool turned up high. I've never seen this before, any help?

Hi Rich, I haven't encountered this problem. However, the first thing that comes to mind is the Effect Mode. Check the Mode box; make sure it is set to Normal. If this is not the culprit, try resetting the Clone Stamp tool.Click on the four-line square at the right end of the Tool Options area and select Reset Tool.

Just a quick question - What mode is the clone stamp tool in? Normal as it's default?

What mode is the clone stamp tool in? Normal as it's default? Frank, thanks for joining the troubleshooting! Glad to see we are on the same page. The Mode is the usual suspect in this case. the first thing that comes to mind is the Effect Mode. Check the Mode box; make sure it is set to Normal.
