Hi everyone, Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. The rules are rather simple.
- Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.NOTE

I was about to roll out my exercise mat, but cooler heads prevailed. This is the Portland Exercise Course. Well into a 50-year decline, parts of the course can still be found along overgrown paths winding through the hills of Southwest Portland.
Quoting from an online article "Opened to the public back in 1974, the course was part of the Swiss parcourse fad that swept through the nation. The course was conceived as a two-mile, 20-station fitness trail along the side of the Southwest Portland road, guiding users through simple calisthenics and to exercise equipment constructed off the pathway." About five years ago there was discussion about brining the course back to existence, but it never came about. Thanks for the theme Sepiana!

Especially nice one, Tony. Shanks's pony was new to me.

No machines here - just hills to climb with shanks' pony and a dog for company Tony That is my idea of exercise, too, Tony. All those machines look like torture to me. Shanks' (or shanks's) mare (or nag or pony) derives from the name of the lower part of the leg between the knee and ankle - the shank, nowadays more often known as the shin-bone or tibia. This was alluded to in the early form of this term - shank's nag. This originated in Scotland in the 18th century.

I often walk alone and occasionally with one or two others. Somewhat out of character, I joined an informal group of birders this evening for a walk in the river valley.

Not my best photo, but it slides in on the edge of the category. This is my confirmation that "Fitness" can be subjective. On October 1, 2021, that scale displayed 316. 33 weeks and 69 pounds later this is the reality - I feel 100 times better than I did a year ago. Comparing now to then, I'm more "fit" than I've been for 20+ years. (I don't know why it makes my feet look fat... they are actually pretty bony these days.)

Fitness machines in the Gym where I work. Matthew Matthew, great work place! One can get quite a cardiovascular workout using these cycles. I love the message on the back wall. So true!
