I finally downloaded lightroom because everyone tells me it will be quicker and easier. Not yet.
I am going to be doing some real estate work, bracketing exposures, and hdr.
what would the steps be? would you shoot in raw? do I convert to hrd in Photomatix or LR. how do I apply corrections to a batch of pics at a time? is there hope for me?
Thanks Rich

Rich I use LR 6, not the online version. I also have Photomatix which is actually a more powerful and artistic for HDR. However if you want to do HDR in LR here is the workflow. 1- In the library module import your images into LR. 2- Then in the Edit module, select the 3 or more mages intended for HDR. To select them, hold down the control key and click on the images one by one, or click on 1 and use shift click further down the film strip to select several. 3- Right click the selected images/photomerge/HDR and follow the further directions. I hope this helps. helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/hdr-photo-merge.htmlKind regards Chris

Most Definitely ! Way back ages ago, I made two separate feeble attempts at shooting/editing/converting RAW and got frustrated and gave it up for jpegs; at that time, the out-of-camera jpegs looked better than the mess I was making with RAW. Then, I got DxO Elite and my life changed. A jpeg is just like a scan of a print or a screenshot; what you see is what you have; try to manipulate it very much and it will come to pieces. RAW, on the other hand, may look too dark or too light; but, in most cases, you can pull the detail out of it.
For whatever it's worth, I have stand-alone LightRoom and I am not impressed with it.

I agree with Buckskin, shooting Raw will give you a much better HDR picture. The only advantage of shooting HDR with jpg is the lower file size. You can use LR to do do panoramas as well. Once you have your finished your edit, right click the image and select export to jpg or whatever. Tip: never export 8 bit images with the Profoto colour space. For 8 bit images use sRGB or the better AdobeRGB. When I first purchased Lightroom I thought I had made a terrible mistake. It took me quite a few months before I felt comfortable with it. Now I use it al the time. Kind regards Chris

Its learning curve is a steep one. Now I use Lightroom Classic (via a CC subscription). I'm no expert at it but I no longer regret having it. Many of our members are Lightroom users. Feel free to ask for help. Lightroom integrates really well with Elements. You may want to check our sticky Lightroom -- Resources thread for information on this process.

thanks for the help. I shot in raw and took the pics straight to Photomatix clicking the real estate setting box. it was pretty easy and the reuslts was good.
So this is how I am going to do this, now I have to figure out how to charge.

I really don't know what version LR I have. It's the new download, monthly subscription.

and therein lies the snag.... In this modern digital age, photographers are a dime a dozen; everyone has a niece, daughter, or daughter-in-law who is very adept at taking care of any photographic or photoshopping needs basically for free and it is going to be hard to compete against that.
