B&H has a 3 part series covering ICM. It includes the work and helpful suggestions of a number of talented photographers who excel in this type of photography. Adjusting your expectations and learning to embrace the process rather than looking for immediate success seems to be key. I have always been drawn to the artistic quality of these images and found this to be an excellent, in depth series, featuring the work of some truly inspiring photographers.

A little serendipity tonight! I looked out and saw that there were beautiful sunset colors. I was too lazy to get out my tripod so thought why not try this technique. I'm kinda pleased with these so thought I'd share. Very little post processing...quite fun.

Tried two more today.... ISO 400, 35mm, f 3.5, 1/25 + a touch of the oil paint filter in PS.
ISO 400, 35mm, f3.5, 1/40

Not sure if this actually fits the technique but it's close enough for me. It was created using a layered PSD File that will work for PS users but unfortunately not for PE. After adding the image to the file, I opened it again and selected the police officers and played with blend modes to find what worked. You can create an account to download the free PSD file at Pixabuddah. It is called Defocus Motion.

A person in a FB group where I first learned about the PSD file from Pixabuddah has posted this workaround for PE users: She suggests that you use Filter>blur>Motion Blur.... 90 degrees for the angle and a distance of 640. For my two above I selected parts from the original image, enlarged them and placed them over the blurred image. I tried different blend modes and opacities till I found what looked good to me. kdcintx thought you might like this work-around.
