Hello! It would be great if I could find some help to this problem... I used PSE3 for a long time and by then I used a set of free plugins, the legendary VirtualPhotographer. Today I tried to "install" this in my PSE 13 but despite of placing the files in the usual Plug-Ins folder, nothing showed in the filters menu of PSE 13. I then tried Perfect Effects 9 Free, and again, nothing shows in filters menu. Perhaps none of these plugins are compatible with PSE 13? Specially strange with Perfect Effects 9 Free as it's a modern collection with wide support. Any ideas, thoughts?

I don't know about the first set - perhaps they are 32-bit plug-ins? If so, they won't work because PSE13 is a 64-bit program.
As far as Perfect Effects, goes, though, that does not show up under filter menu but under File | Automation Tools.
And welcome to the Forum, by the way.

Hi torgut, welcome to PSE&M! Craig is on the right track. VirtualPhotographer is a 32-bit plug-in; it won't work in Elements 13, a 64-bit application. I don't believe they offer a 64-bit version of this plug-in.

Hey fellows! Yeah that makes sense. I suspected VirtualPhotographer wouldn't work. And now I see the other one where Major Major said. It's not really the integration I was expecting but well, it's for free :-)

Hummmm look what I found:
But there is a workaround: A tool called LaunchBox lets you run 32-bit plugins from within Photoshop 64-bit. Launchbox makes it work by installing a 64-bit bridge plugin, which launches a 32-bit program that executes the 32-bit plugins and passes the processed image back to Photoshop.

I am confused. Are you talking about Photoshop CS or Elements? If the former there is no need for such a tool. Photoshop CS gets installed as both a 32- and a 64-bit version. Any 32-bit plug-in will be installed in the 32-bit version.

torgut,
I have just thought of something. Do you still have your copy of Elements 3? You could reinstall it. Then, you would be able to use virtualPhotographer. Are you on Windows (7 or 8/8.1)? There have been confirmed reports that Elements 3 will run on these operating systems provided you run it in Compatibility mode.
