I bet they smell nice like juniper berries. According to what I read, these are not true Cedars, but Junipers; so, I guess it would be correct to call them Juniper Berries. As common as they are, and I have been among Cedars my whole life, I don't think I have ever actually touched one of these berries. I had always assumed they would be squishy like a grape; but, according to Wikipedia, they are not berries, but actually seed nuts. If it ever stops raining, I walk right by these on my way to the barn; when I go out to feed directly, I will grab a handful to investigate further. There are like hundreds upon hundreds of Cedar trees on our property; from little ankle-high seedlings to sixty-foot-tall giants.
