I still have problems with frames. (The sizing). I took these photos, and decided to try framing them . I am happy with the results of my amateur effort. I still should get practise in, though. Edit. . . Oh dear, the length sides of the second frame must have been too pale to show up against this white.

I haven't heard of the Goat's Beard shrub but I have to say it looks lovely. If you would like some help with framing your photos just shout out whippet and together we can surely sort something out!

What a gorgeous plant, Margaret. I like the way you photographed them.

Whippet - when creating your own frames, open the grid and it will be easier to get symmetry.
Another way is selecting your photo layer - then going to your background layer and hitting delete. A hole the exact size of your photo will be cut out of your background paper
Place your newly designed frame layer above the photo. Adding layer styles to the frame layer will give your frame dimension. Try bevel and/or shadow
note: If you keep the frame layer beneath your photo layer, the styles you add will not show very well, if at all.
However, the way you did it - adding a bevel to your photo layer can also be an effective way to frame.

Thank you all very much for your comments. My internet connection has been down, that is why you haven't heard from me before now. The Goats Beard is a member of the astilbe family. They don't usually grow to this size - now almost 6ft high, and 8 wide. I have had this for donkeys years. It is cut right down to a few inches every autumn. I don't know what is happening this year, all plants seem to be growing bigger than they ever have done before. @ Jacki - Yes, the bees love it. @ Janice - Thank you for the information. That is where I went wrong on the second picture. When the frame came up, I put the image on top. I had tried putting the frame over the image, but of course, that lost the image. Another lesson learned . . . until I forget, again.

Thank you Jacki. My husband always had the garden in a 'uniformed' state. Me - I much prefer the natural look.

Me - I much prefer the natural look. Totally agree with the natural look, love a bit more chaos than neatness in a garden.
