Female Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly Papilio glaucus
Perched on an Eastern Red Cedar.
I don't think I have ever seen a butterfly colored quite like this one.
Contrary to most animals, the female of the species is much more impressive than the male; plus, females can be either yellow or black; males are always yellow.
