Have you ever used the Rectangular or Elliptical Selection Marquee tool on your project and after dragging it out wanted to alter it’s size or even shape...Without starting from scratch what do you do?
I learned this only recently after coming across this video by Helen Bradley...see link below ...The video is for PS but it works in PSE too. I would advise looking at the video but for those who don’t like watching videos the general idea is this...
After dragging out either the rectangular or elliptical selection marquee tool on your project place your cursor inside the selection and right click - from the choices given click on Transform Selection...I repeat click on Transform Selection. You will see a bounding box around the selection and you can use that to drag your selection larger or smaller. If you right click inside the selection again you can choose skew, distort, perspective and play with your selection that way. Seeing the video will make my stumbling explanation much clearer. Lillias, thanks for posting this! I knew about Transform Selection but, for some reason, I keep forgetting to use it in both Elements and Photoshop. I usually take the long route -- place the selection on its ow layer and do the transform there. This reminder should stick!
