This makes twice in the last couple weeks that this has happened.
I went to quite a bit of effort, creating a post and creating and establishing links and whatnot and then clicked Submit(or whatever)
There was my newly created post just like I had created it and I thought all was good.
I mean I went to quite a bit of effort.
After a bit, I thought I would check back to see if I had any feedback and my post has completely vanquished --- GONE --- nowhere to be found.
Search as I may, I cannot find any piece, part, or particle of my post; it is as if I never created it at all.
This happened once before a couple weeks ago.

Oh BuckSkin,
How sad that is. Hopefully the MODS can figure out what in the world happened!

Buckskin, that has happened to me a few times in the past on various forums. It can be very annoying. I think it is caused by internet and server issues. Whenever I write a long post I try to remember to select all the text and use control+C to copy and paste it to a text file. That way, in case it is not posted, I have a backup.
Kind regards Chris

Those are the key words. Whenever something like this happens, for the next several weeks I will do as you described, meticulously saving my work "just in case" --- and then, months will pass with no more problems and I will allow my guard to drop a bit --- and then I get caught again. On whatever forum site, usually, problems happen in the transition between clicking Submit and the post actually getting posted --- but, these two occurrences are different; my posts actually posted and were right there in line underneath the previous post and then a bit later they just disappeared with no evidence they had ever been there. I even went into my Recent Activity (or whatever it's called) and there was no evidence there either.

I think this has been mentioned before but in case you might have missed it or changed a setting and then forgot to save I am posting it again. You can edit your profile to save drafts....it has saved mine numerous times!

Helen,
Thank you for posting that!! It took me a minute, but I did find these items under "Settings" Mine was already set the same as yours.
When you come back at a later date and you cannot find your missing post, how do you use the saved drafts? Hoping of course it has not changed to a newer draft.

I think I have misread Buckskin's initial inquiry. Rereading it I see that he actually saw his newly created post appear where he had wanted it posted. Thought all was good and left.He came back at a later time and his post was missing. If I am now getting this correctly, I don't know if there is a remedy for that and you are best off following the suggestion made by Chris.
