Blue Dasher (Pachydiplax longipennis) ~ Dragonfly

I believe this to be a Male Juvenile = Green Male eyes and Striped Female Abdomen

Those barbs are about four inches apart.
He would take off and then settle on the next barb; he did this for two or three spans between posts.
He never skipped a barb.

On a poverty-level Kentucky budget, a 24-exposure roll of film would have two Christmases and a summer vacation on it and we might have to wait another six months before being able to afford developing the film.
I still have trouble remembering that it doesn't cost anything to take thousands of pictures; it just almost seems impossible to be true.

Yes; the backgrounds are natural.

It was a long way from the Dragonfly to anything at all behind it; plumb across the horse lot.

I guess if a person wanted to create such a background for other purposes, they could just focus on the wire and then raise the camera above it so the wire would not be in the blurred background.
