Hi everyone, I just watched this instructional video on some important considerations for creating believable composites and found the insights extremely helpful. The tool used is On1 Photo RAW, so if you don't have it you might think watching it will be a waste of time, but I really do think you can accomplish the same manipulations using PS Elements (or any other photo editing tool), and in any case, it is the considerations about how to reconcile fundamental differences between layers you are trying to combine the real value of this video. 5 Tips for Great Photo Composites

Yes, ON1 is a very powerful image editing app. I think of it as a cousin to Lightroom/Aperture/etc. as opposed to Photoshop/Elements. It really shines when working with layers! There is a lot of thought to creating and adding techniques and tools suggested by professional photographers. They also freely offer lots of helpful videos describing how to use the app. Unfortunately, they seem to always use great photographs instead of my kind of feeble images! I started with PSE, then added On1 long before they offered raw processing. I was hoping to have a one-stop-shop for my photo processing but have completely abandoned that goal. On 1 is a terrific program, but PSE out performs in panorama creation, and if one adds Elements+ it's far better at focus stacking.
