I did recently discover the new Select Subject cloud service option in the August update and tried it out. It does do a much better job of selecting subjects at least in the few cases I've tried. You can see more about it here . Takes slightly longer but does save time by requiring less touching up with the selection brush.

I also recently discovered this feature (thanks to Matt K). I had a similar experience. The selection results were much more accurate, thus reducing the need for touching-up.

I like it so much that I went to Preferences and made it the default.
