That is funny, and slightly disturbing....have never heard of a tootsie roll, but after googling it I have no doubts that I would like them.

They are a staple in the US - have been around for ages - they also come in a miniature size and that's the one chosen for halloween handouts. "Tootsie Roll is a chocolate taffy that has been manufactured in the United States since 1907.
The candy has qualities similar to both caramels and taffy ..."Personally, they are too chewy for me - but the flavor is good. A better choice is a tootsie roll pop. Hard candy on a stick with a tootsie roll center. Those I like. Yumm - now I'm thinking of candy. BTW - the whole story behind this display at this candy store was a play on the on-going joke that our bathroom "activities" look like tootsie rolls. Which is why I'm not sure whether this display is funny or disgusting. Bathroom humor - not a favorite of mine. Plus it kinda taints the idea of wanting to eat tootsie rolls. Remember the kitty litter cakes that were the rage a couple of decades ago...they used melted tootsie rolls to make them look authentic! Haha.
