Tuesday_23-August-2022 Common Buckeye Butterfly (Junonia coenia)
On Ironweed.
The first one of these I took notice of, I thought it was the rarest thing I had ever seen; I saw the name, "Common Buckeye Butterfly", and I thought "Common my eye"; I have since changed my thinking as I can see no less than twenty of these any day of the week, often four and five at a time.
You can learn all about them at Kidadl, Butterfly Fun Facts, Butterflies and Moths, Insect Identification, Butterfly Identification, Bug Guide, and Wikipedia.

It looks like two owls are sitting together on the wing. Lovely butterfly, BuckSkin.
